This seminar will explore the world of product design from a unique angle, with a particular focus on the impact of the digital age on the design of modern products.
Mark Sorsa-Leslie of Beringar, a young Scottish company, will present an insightful overview of his journey from an initial design idea to a successful marketed product.
Craig Lynn of Filament PD will describe how an expert in product design will approach the task of successfully turning a concept into a viable and marketable product.
Yann Robin and David Murray from Marks & Clerk will discuss the main issues surrounding protecting Intellectual Property in relation to designs.
The seminar will be of interest to anyone involved with product design and/or Intellectual Property. The event will provide a unique opportunity for design professionals who are aware of the practical requirements of product design, to learn about related aspects of Intellectual Property.
Similarly, legal professionals will be able to learn about what it takes to successfully bring a product idea to market.

In 2001, he found Open Era Systems, one of the UK's first online property management systems companies gaining clients including BNP Paribas Real Estate. After eight years in Finland running a VC-backed startup, he returned to form Beringar with co-founder Paul Byrne.
